iPas 2 – A Breath Of Fresh Air To Empower Network. Is It Really?

I have heard about iPas about 1 1/2 years ago, when members of the “Prosperity Team” created a big buzz on the Internet about it. As quickly as the buzz started, as quickly it stopped.

The Prosperity Team is an exclusive group of independent affiliate marketers within the Empower Network Community.

In case you are not familiar with EN, here is the short version of what EN is:

Preamble To My iPAS 2 Review

The Empower Network, founded by Dave Wood and Dave Sharpe in 2011, is the largest Pyramid Scheme on the Internet. Illegal by law in the US, Canada and Western Europe countries, pyramid schemes disguise themselves as MLM companies.

Legal MLM’s, like Herbalife and Amway (now operating under different names world wide), use a “pyramid like” sales system, BUT selling real and tangible products to their customers. The sales people receive a commission as compensation for their effort.

Members of illegal pyramid schemes don’t get a commission for the sale of a tangible product, they receive up to 100% of the entry fee for “recruiting new members” as commission.

In order to escape the wrath of the FTC, EN tries to disguise their “modus operandi” by selling members some kind of digital products. I will tell you more about these products and the pricing just a bit later.

By the middle of 2013, the EN pyramid scheme had ran its course and came to a dead halt. The pool to lure new recruits, or should I say “victims”, into the scheme simply dried out.

This is an inevitable occurrence that every pyramid scheme encounters. Every newly recruited member is supposed to recruit new members into level ONE of the pyramid and receives the entry fee as commission.

The screenshot below shows you an excerpt of the Empower Network Compensation Plan, based on the “Power of 6”.

the EN commission structur

If all goes according to the plan, after week ten you would have 39,735 people in your down line. And herein lies the big problem with pyramid schemes. Of course, you are not the only one recruiting new members.

According to a former founding member, EN had approximately 300,000 active members by mid 2013. Let’s just assume that only 3% did recruit 6 members and all others in their down lines did the same.

39,375 multiplied by 9,000 = 354,375,000, that’s a whopping 354 Million and 375 Thousand people.

This has to sink in for just a minute, right? That’s more than the population of the USA. And that’s the reason why pyramid schemes fail.

The example is theoretical and serves only to explain the compensation structure. In reality, not many folks will stay at the entry level. The next level, called Inner Circle, has an entry fee of $100 and most members upgraded as soon as they recruited 6 new members.

Anyways, Empower Network was basically dead and a lot of founding members left like rats leaving a sinking ship. The money flows from bottom to the top, and only a few in the very top of this scheme did indeed make a lot of money.

What happened to “the left behind”? EN’s pyramid is structured “to make BIG bucks” and the upper four levels require investments ranging from $500 to over $5,000 (they called this the “All In Level.

99% of the Members that invested thousands of dollars never recouped their money and had to take their losses. In fact, only 2 percent of the total membership was able to make a decent, livable income. Look at En’s income statistics below and weep.

97 percent of members lost money w en

You can see what kind of crap EN really is. Many of the remaining members just hang around in the hope that something good is going to happen, and EN will be revived.

There were some programs popping up from time to time that were designed to bring back the glory days of EN.

  • Next Level Mastermind
  • Freedom Fighters Network
  • Blog Beast

are a few of these.  Mark Soto, a founding member of EN,was one of the first to jump ship, received commissions in excess of 1 million dollars (by his own admission).

Another one was James Bonadies. Let me wrap-up my “Preamble to the iPas 2 Review” with this excerpt from Mr. Bonadies’ website. If you want to read the complete story and watch his video, here is the link to his website.

iPAS 2 Review_James Bonadies“Name is James Bonadies, and I used to be a top producer in Empower Network. Although I have a lot of respect for this business, I feel and felt extremely uncomfortable selling something that I learned is impossible for the average person to succeed at.

It is true, most of the time, the average person doesn’t do what is necessary to succeed online whether in ipas, empower network, MTTB or any other “how to make money online” programs.

The average person I say as if I am above average. Which I am not. Not even close. However, my results are far from average.

I got sick of shoving lies down the throats of innocent people, at the time I didn’t know they were lies, and got sick of selling the system so other people can sell the system. I call it the “revolving door to hell!” That is what it is…the revolving door to financial ruin.

The video below talks more about this and why I have left, as well………….]”

What I Liked

I watched several of Chris Jones’ videos. The sales video, of course, and then two clips I found on YouTube. Chris and his partner Chris Campbell created a product, that could help Internet marketers to streamline and automate some of the time consuming every-day tasks.

They realized that the previous version of iPas was not perfect, and, as he commits, contained some flaws. Over the past 2 years however, they worked hard to fix the inherent bugs.

In one of the videos I found on YouTube, Chris is showing us in detail how iPas 2 works and how we could benefit from using it. You can watch it right here if you are interested.

I also like the basic concept that “Community Help & Support” combined with “Mentorship”  will make it much easier to achieving success. Chris is very open about his affiliation with Empower Network and the fact that HE would by your mentor if you would decide to join him.

What I Did NOT Like About iPAS 2

1 ) If you don’t join Empower Network, you CAN NOT buy the iPAS 2 System

You read the  “PREAMBLE” to my review and and know that I am not a friend of EN. The only way to make money with EN is to recruit people so THEY can sell the system. I am sure that you remember what James Bonadies had to say about that.

What YOU would be selling are the different levels of the iPAS 2 Pyramid Scheme. Let me show you the levels and how much each level will cost you:

  • Fast Start $25 /month + $19.95 Affiliate Pack – 3 “take action videos” and access to EN blogging platform
  • Pro $100/month + 19.95 Affiliate Pack – 7 “take action videos” and access to the EN Inner Circle to “tune your mindset for success”
  • Silver $500 / One Time – 6 effective marketing on social media videos” and access to EN Costa Rica Mastermind “understand the psychology of marketing and selling”
  • Gold $1,500 / One Time – 4 “all about traffic videos” and access to EN 15K Formula “HOW TO marketing strategies” for promoting EN
  • Black $3,000 / One Time – 2 “How TO scale your business to make anything from 20K a month to the ‘sky is the limit'”

2) Chris Jones compares Empower Network to Apple Inc.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Chris actually has the guts to pull this stunt. People are buying Apple products because they are tangible goods and THEY USE THEM. People buy EN products to SELL THEM for a 100% commission. En products are of no use for people who want to build a sustainable online business.

 3) The Video Testimonials From EN Members – Are They Reliable?

I have serious doubts about that. First off, none of the folks is actually mentioning iPAS 2. They all talk about their success with “The System”  and how much money they are making. There is this one guy claiming he made 70 Grand in one month.

Maybe because iPAS system is still “kind of new“? Could be, but I think it’s because the EN folks DO NOT SELL A PRODUCT. They are selling a dream that all too soon turns into a hellish nightmare.

video testimonial from empower network member_no mentioning of iPAS2

This guy exaggerates (lies) a lot, don’t you think? I’ll give it a rest. The official EN income chart I showed you earlier, speaks for itself.

Conclusion To My iPAS 2 Review

Chris Jones and his partner created a digital product that COULD be useful for many Internet marketers IF the functionality is indeed as Chris explains in the video. Personally, I believe that they worked hard to perfect the system and have no doubt that it actually works as intended.

Unfortunately, they decided to make it available EXCLUSIVELY to Empower Network and its members. The only money making purpose of EN is in recruiting new members.

For that reason, iPAS 2/Empower Network is illegal and a SCAM.

sign of two thumbs down

What Next

Of course, I cannot stop you from trying your luck with iPAS 2/EN. However, let me remind you of this. If you want to make real money there, you will have to position yourself as high up in the pyramid as possible. And this will cost you.

Going “all in” in the hope to make a bundle, you will spend over $5,000 without any guarantee that you will at least recoup your investment.

There is a better alternative though. Learn how to build a website about something you really like to do. Find legitimate products and affiliate programs (like Amazon) and make money. It takes the willingness to learn and work. I did that and so can you.

You can start today without having to pay a single penny. Read the review about my #1 recommendation and join me on the inside of Wealthy Affiliate. Also, take a look at the table below. It shows you how WA compares to iPAS 2.

It’s easy to understand why Wealthy Affiliate is my #1 recommendation. Once you are on the other side, I will be there to guide you on your way to success.

I will ask one question show me another system that has created more 6 and 7 figure earners. So if it doesn’t work why have so many big name marketers figured the how to become above average or top 3 with Empower as there string board they must have gotten some value.

  2. Thanks John. I almost got entangled with iPas yesterday. I had just viewed a very good video by Jon Ochs on keyword research and thought I’d check out his regular website to see what he might have to offer in terms of training. When I got to his site, there was this offer for a streamlined system. I clicked on that and got this video about iPas which sounded like I would be getting into a digital product that automates Internet Marketing tasks (like it says in your Pros). I signed up for the $47 trial and skipped all the up sales (Pro, etc). When I saw the first couple of videos I thought: PYRAMID SCHEME! That’s when I googled iPas Pyramid Scheme and found your review. I immediately canceled via the iPas website according to their directions and am supposed to get my money refunded. Interesting — when iPas addressed cancellations, they specifically asked that the cancelations be done through their site or via phone and not as a credit card dispute because they didn’t want a bad reputation for their company.

    • Hi Mary, thanks for stopping by. Good you got your suspicions when you watched their videos trying to lure you in that thing. I am still not sure if the iPas has any actual function at all. Nobody I contacted had any info, even some that are members there. It’s pyramid within the remnants of Empower Network. I feel sorry for the folks that still hang on to it in hope to recover their ill fated investments. Of course they want to avoid any more bad news coming out. Hey, good luck to you and stop by whenever you have a chance

  3. Ha! And now it says – your comment is awaiting MODERATION!

    • Unlike you, I am busy working a legitimate business and not trying to sell people a dream that turns into a nightmare.

  4. Thank you for your opinion on the IPAS. It helped a lot an I will NOT being signing up. HOWEVER I think it’s slightly worrying that I have looked at a couple of these websites today, including blueprints and Ipas, and at the bottom of the page it says – this is my view on this scam -NOW CLICK HERE TO SEE MY #1 RECOMENDATION….. which leads onto a video and adding your email and sign ups (with hidden fees) etc and you have done the EXACTLY the same! You have given us great info on other scam sites, then put a link to another one

    • Hi Cat, I really appreciate your comment. However, if you can’t see the difference between scams like iPas and legitimate programs like WA, there is really no need to try and discuss this issue. WA is in business for over 10 years now. Show me just one of the likes of iPas or Blueprints that are able to run theirs scam longer than 2 years. On the other hand, the few legitimate will be there years from now. Others I know of: Chris Farrell Membership and Affilorama.

  5. First of all I would like to thank you for this amazing post. You are truly trying to warn those innocent people who are desperate to make money. Unfortunately, I was stupid enough to believe all the hypes in this so called ipas2 and I was there for 2 months and did not make a penny. This scam scheme which merely relies on you recruiting others to help those above you to make money , guys you won’t make a single penny if you can not recruit others this pretty much a fake dream because you are notttttttttttttttttt selling anything tangible. So you have to recruit others to sign up for a monthly payment for you to get paid and they would have to recruite so many others to sign up for a monthly payment and so on forth …… The question is what happen when people stop signing up …… I wish economy works this way this is a pure pure deceptive scheme where the dummies on the bottom have to spend so much time and money in hope someone stupid like me would fall for this scam …. I personally call this a fake and failed economy. There are so many innocent people like me and so many others who falls off for the prey of gurus who really makes the millions of dollars by structuring a scheme like that….. I have learned the hard way and I am personally thinking of creating a non profit organization to go after these gurus. Guys, please do not ever believe all the hypes especially when scam artist tells how much they make money because they have nothing to deliver except these hypes and money and cars because they want to drift your attention away from the real subject because they do not want you to use your brain and ask questions. These scam artist want you to advertise their business and make money bases on the hypes and the money they have fed you up with. It’s a. Human weakness especially when a person is desperately broke to believe any hype and money making scheme. I wish I read your post before but I still thank you for your courage and effort to expose this evil scheme which exploit the desperately innocent broke individual.

    • Sadiq, thnks for your comment. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. What happens when people stop signing up? The ugly pyramid crumbles, the guys on top laughing all the way to the bank, and the folks down below are left with their loss. And then the scammers all meet in some exotic place brainstorming their next scam projects. You know, wash, rinse, repeat. I try to warn people with my reviews and truly hope some read my stuff before getting burnt. Check out how I got started making money online. You can do the same, but you must understand that there is no easy way, neither are there any systems that work on auto pilot. It takes work and effort, and the willingness to really learn how internet marketing works. Give it a try. You can start for free, take 10 lessons of the 60 lesson course, build a website for free. Then it’s up to you to decide if this is what you were looking for.

  7. This is an exact quote from their earnings disclaimer: All testimonies are a result of personal experience or were provided by each individual. They have NOT been verified for accuracy or truthfulness

    • Yes Marius, that’s what it says. It’s like all the other disclaimers. “We don’t know it the testimonies are true or not”. Be prepared not to make any money at all.

  8. What confused me is in the video I saw Chris says he already has the high end products and tickets to sell but doesn’t explain what they are, so I really don’t get at all. This review really did help me get a sense that all is not what it seems – thank you

    • Helena, the thing is just a funnel to get new blood and money into the darn Empower Network ruin. I know a couple of people that lost thousands without any hope to recoup any.

  9. If EN is an illegal pyramid scheme why hasn’t the FTC or other legal body prosecuted?

    • Beats me Jeff. My guess is that they just want to be bothered since it’s hard to prove that the non-product products are indeed “not tangible products”.

  10. I disagree with your cynical assessment. For starters, you are essentially saying that the iPAS 2 system has no usefulness aside from being something that EN users can sell to people. It, in fact, teaches quite a lot about SEO principles, how to market (and not market) products online etc. The information comes from people who have had plenty of success using the methods they share.

If one doesn’t have success marketing iPAS 2 itself, they can still take the lessons that are taught and apply them to general online marketing or to a certain product of another kind. IPAS 2 teaches principles related to internet/social media marketing.

I will say this, however: Be shrewd. Always test the waters first. Never get in over your head as you may possibly put yourself in a hole. I never market any of the advanced iPAS 2 levels to newer members. You have to take the seven day trial or use the basic $47/month system for a month or two. The POTENTIAL to make money is there and the training to do so is provided. I don’t think it’s fair to expect things like this system to be absolutely free considering the time and effort people like Chris Jones have put into the system. I don’t believe Bill Gates gave away Windows for free. Just be smart and open-minded. If you go into this thing expecting to start making $3000 immediately, you’re setting yourself up for failure/financial problems. But if you’re willing to spend a bit of money to try out the system, what do you have to lose? At the very least you will learn some things from the materials provided and get some first-hand experience of internet marketing.

    • Paul, what is cynical about my assessment? I can’t buy it without joining EN, and I cannot use it for anything else but trying to lure other folks into this scam.

      • The promo vids for ipas do play a bit much on peoples needs and desires but that’s advertising for you. However I don’t see why it’s not OK to have a business thats based on memberships and advertising…surely then it just becomes about how you choose to use the system.. With great power and success comes great responsibility… I mean if more money can be generated by the system and reinvested into non corporate business and to make a positive change in peoples lives then surely that’s a good thing? .
They claim to offer the service to anyone willing to make a change in their life and want to give everybody a chance, there is alot of training to back this up but they don’t spoonfeed it. Now of course this results in the pyramid problem but it also encourages people to think for themselves. The problem is not really with the system, it is with our own government/systems and thats why people resort to the kickstart offered by ipas because it gives them the chance to really take control of their lives and gain freedom without becoming a product of their environment. The training programme encourages people to think about their potential and other peoples potential, how we can all work together with our resources for the greater good of communities, to work for what we really want in life and what really matters to us. ipas 2 doesn’t sell dreams, it sells lifestyles and the idea of what can be achieved when we pull together to achieve our life goals. The systems main tool is the power of belief- If you believe you will be successful then you will be. Simple as that! Your job in turn is then to convince others that they can be successful too. Unfortunately for me, I am british and I don’t want any of my taxes going to uncle sams army, i am also not the kind of person who likes to sit at a computer all day so for these reasons im out. But if anyone decides to use this system please use it wisely to build other good business and relationships, or else it really does just become a scam to make money! If everyone just thought a bit more we could all get alot richer and happier alot faster!

        • Hi Nikki, thanks for your comment. I agree with everything you say about ‘life style and achieving goals’. Nothing wrong with that. However, if a system is based solely on taking other peoples money to ‘teach them how to take other peoples money, to create wealth for some, then it is indeed wrong. And that'[s what iPas and Empower Network is all about.

  11. Thanx for this great reviev. It saved me money!

  12. Excellent post with nitty gritty details everyone should read. Thank you.

The thing that I object to (aside from the fact that iPas2 IS a pyramid scheme, there’s no denying that) is that some of their members are blatantly marketing this scam as a Law of Attraction kind of thing – or trying to associate it with LoA.

Nothing could be further from the truth!

iPas2 is about conning and robbing people using an illegal system to do so.

The principles of LoA are the polar opposite – LoA teaches (among other things) freely sharing with others – repeat – FREELY (no fees, no payments) – how you succeeded in manifesting wonderful situations in your life so that others can learn to do the same for themselves. It’s the whole ‘teach a man to fish..’ thing.

The world will be a better place when scams like this one have been destroyed.

  13. I was wondering about this program after having heard something about it the other day. I wonder why these guys keep putting out this crap and making money at it! Well that is why they do it, but I wonder why their conscience lets them continue? I would hope they all go to hell and when they thirst for a cool drink of water…I would give them a very warm single drip of water just to see them stick their tongue out for it…then I would just drop it slightly to the left of them!!!LOL

Great article about iPass 2…I guess we pass as well.
    Rick

    • Hello Rick, thanks for your comment. They are putting out stuff like this because there are thousands and thousands of people trying to find a way to make money online. Unfortunately, they are able to attract lots of folks who are chasing a dream. And as I said in my review, the dream will become a cruel nightmare. I just hope that more people read my review before they too get scammed.
